The Vice-Chancellor, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Uduma O. Uduma has enveiled the signage of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the headquarters of the university in Abuja.
The Vice-Chancellor, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Technology, Innovation & Research (TIR), Prof. Christine Ofulue commissioned the new signage on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 in front of the faculty's building at NOUN headquarters, Jabi, Abuja.
Prof. Uduma disclosed that the resource verification exercise that happened a few weeks ago was quite satisfactory except in the area of infrastructure, when it comes to the office building.
”Having this signage here has beautified the place even more than it was before,” he said.
The NOUN VC encouraged all faculties to think and bring more ideas on how they can beautify their environments, urging them to emulate the Faculty of Social Sciences on having a similar gesture.
On his part, the dean of the faculty, Prof. Kamal Bello, noted that there was a need for creating the signage to speak for the faculty and anyone who sees it will confirm that social sciences is a pacesetter.
He applauded the good Samaritan who did the signage project as it was a relief to him.
Prof. Bello said the faculty has about seven departments, who need a conference room large enough to contain over 80 lectures. “We need more rooms for office space.”
The dean also requested for a mock accreditation exercise, which could be of help so as to correct certain errors before the actual accreditation exercise commences.
Bello appreciated the Vice-Chancellor and promised that the Faculty of Social Sciences is fully in support of his administration.
