Mafiana in unscheduled visit to Kebbi centre

The Director, Research Administration of the National Open University of Nigeria, Prof. Chinedu Mafiana has paid an unscheduled visit to Kebbi Study Centre in Kebbi State. 

Mafiana, who is a member Presidential Visitation Panel to Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi, was on official assignment to the state. 

NOUN News recalles that Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic is the housing the Kebbi Study Centre of the university.

The centre is still awaiting the state government to realise its pledge of providing a befitting place to situate the university. 

As such, the centre is presently situated at the Polytechnic after ceding its original office located at Jega to the Nigerian Army in 2017. 

Mafiana's visit coincided with the time when the students of the university have started writing 2021_1 Pen-on-Paper examination at all the 103 Study Centres across the country. 

He was warmly received by the director of the centre, Dr. Ibrahim Musa, in his office at Birnin Kebbi.

He was later taken round the centre where he inspected the centre's facilities and the ongoing Pen-on-Paper examination hall to see for himself the general administration of the exercise.

He commended the staffers of the centre for the job weldone in ensuring that the ongoing examination is going with no hitches. 

the director further explained that he was at Birnin Kebbi not for examination monitoring but rather for another separate official engagement but deemed it necessary to visit the centre and interact with the NOUN family. 

"I cannot go without visiting the centre to say hi to you," he said.

on his part, the centre director appreciated the effort of his visitor, which, he added, despite his tight schedules was able squeeze up time and visit the centre.
