The programme, which was held on Thursday 20th October 2021, was also a familiarisation exercise to get new students acquainted with the learning activities and the environment during their stay in the university.
Director of the centre, Dr. Oluyemisi Ogunlela, welcomed the new intakes and took time to explain the mode of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) activities, online registrations and also introduced the members of staff and their duties to the students.
Students' Counsellor, Mrs. Abimbola Adedolapo Ali encouraged the students to have a good relationship with staff and to communicate better especially when facing academic challenges.
She urged them to always attend the university's online facilitation as it would aid them in their studies.
The South-west Incubation Centre Coordinator, Dr. Sam Awolumate also spoke on the need for skills acquisition, business creation and investment.
He enjoined the students to be business-minded and that the university is ready to showcase and exhibit students' products and services.
Speaking on the funding of e-wallet and other payment processes, Miss Ify Ofoegbu, a staff at the centre bursary unit, briefed the students on how to make payments into the portal.
She appealed to the students to be mindful during their payments, stressing that the unit is willing to assist anyone who encounters challenges or has difficulties in the process.
The ICT staff at the centre, Mrs. Jumoke Balogun, explained to them the process of accessing the portal and obtaining e-courseware as well as other materials for their studies.
