Sokefun applauds NOUNAA over secretariat building in Oyo

The Director, Ibadan Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Justus Sokefun has applauded  the National Open University of Nigeria Alumni Association (NOOUAA), Oyo State Chapter, for its initiative, commitment, and foresight in embarking on  laudable projects.

He said building the secretariat was a milestone achievement that would enhance coordination, promote unity among alumni, and serve as a model for other chapters across the country.

The commissioning of the project was held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, and featured the Board Of Trustees (BOT) representative, Alhaji Bashiru Atilola Adisa (Baale Kiabi), who applauded the leadership and members of the chapter for their resilience and dedication in bringing the project to an accomplishment.

The former NOUN DVC, called for sustained commitment towards the maintenance and effective utilisation of the facility.

NOUNAA Chairman, Comrade Salawu Akeem Temitope, also

expressed appreciation to the members and stakeholders for their unwavering support culminating in the realization of the secretariat project.

Highlighting the significance of the building as a legacy achievement and emphasising its role in strengthening the administrative and operational capacity of the alumni association within the state.

The official commissioning of the building was performed by Prof. Justus Sokefun, who formally unveiled and declared the secretariat open for use.

"This moment was met with great enthusiasm and marked a historic milestone in the development of the NOUNAA, Oyo State Chapter," he said.

The Secretary of the Chapter, Prince Dada Olumuyiwa Olumide, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the members of trustees, members and supporters who contributed to the successful completion of the project.
