A 3-man mock accreditation team of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, has visited the Enugu Study Centre, Enugu State, to conduct mock accreditation exercise in preparation for the centre to host the National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation team.

The course seeking accreditation is B.Sc Public Administration in the Faculty of Management Sciences of the university.

The team was led by the Director, Academic Planning, Prof. Gregory O. Okagbare and was accompanied by the Head of Department, Public Administration, Dr. Nwamaka P. Ibeme  and the Deputy Registrar, DAP, Mrs. Florence Okeke,

They were taken round by the centre director, Prof. Charity Akuadi Okonkwo and her senior staff as the trio inspected and assessed the centre's  facilities.

After the tour, Okagbare said that the centre was well organised and neat.

He added that things needed to be put in place for a smooth accreditation have been highlighted and communicated to the centre, noting that if properly implemented, the centre will scale through.

Okagbare, while holding a meeting with the entire staff, thanked them for their efforts in moving the centre forward and charged them to maximally cooperate and support the centre director to ensure a successful accreditation exercise.

The director also underscored the importance of treating and serving the students well, describing them as the greatest assets of the university.

The former director, Learners Support Services, advised staff to cultivate the right work ethics by following the basic rules in the discharge of their duties as well as embracing learning and self-development.

Staff took turns to ask questions on grey areas while Okagbare provided corresponding answers.

Okonkwo, in her response, thanked Okagbare for his sharing of knowledge and acknowledged that she has learnt a lot from him, adding that learning is a continuous process.
