CSO monitors exams, addresses security challenges at Lafia Centre

The Chief Security Officer (CSO), National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Wing Commander Umar Mohammed Awe (Rtd), has visited the Lafia Study Centre, Nasarawa State.

The CSO was at the centre for an on-the- spot assessment of the ongoing Pen-on- Paper (PoP) examinations, as well as to address the security challenges of the centre.

While addressing the security personnel, he charged them to take the issue of securing lives and property their priority.

Awe said security was for all to take seriously; management and staff of the centre, to ensure a safe environment for both staff and students.

He was particularly impressed with the manner in which the examinations were conducted, the attitude of the staff and the general cleanliness and security of the centre.

The CSO commended the Acting Director, Mrs. Rhoda Ezhim Manyi and the security operatives for always keeping the centre safe and advised them to do more.

The centre director later took Awe on a tour round the centre's environment as well as the examination halls.
