Pupils of Jahun 2 Primary School in Bauchi were all smiles following the distribution of new uniforms and writing materials from students of Bauchi Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

The NOUN students undertook the initiative as part of the requirements of the DES 303 Community Development Project.

Ten pupils — five boys and five girls — benefited from the donation, which was aimed at easing parents’ financial burden and encouraging learning.

Presenting the items, the Centre Director, Dr. Madu B. Galadima, commended “Group Four” of the DES 303 class for their impactful work.

He also praised the school’s management for a fair selection process and urged them to sustain the practice.

On his part, the Primary School’s Headmaster, Mr. Ammar Muhammad, expressed gratitude to the group and NOUN management, calling the gesture “timely and impactful.”

He prayed for the students’ continued success and encouraged them to keep serving their communities.

In a related development, another group of DES 303 students embarked on a tree-planting initiative at the Bauchi Study Centre.

The students intend to beautify the premises of the centre and promote environmental sustainability.
