The centre director, Asaba Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Chibuogwu Nnaka, over the past few days has received eminent personalities from the Headquarters of the university in Abuja.
While Prof. Chiedu Mafiana, dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, and Dr. Ernest Ugbeje, dean, Faculty of Law were at the centre to monitor the ongoing Pen-on-Paper (PoP) examinations, Dr. Greg Onwodi, director, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) was at the centre to inspect and assess the ICT facilities at the centre.
Nnaka, who received the trio, and along with her staff, accorded them a warm welcome, said the centre was highly honoured to receive such eminent guests. She also expressed the hope that they would enjoy their moments in Asaba.
The duo of Mafiana and Ugbeje were apparently impressed with the environment in which the exams were conducted. They also expressed satisfaction at the overall conduct of the examinations at the centre.
Onwodi, on his part, was conducted around the premises, where he inspected the Information and Communication (ICT) installations at the centre.
It has been observed that Onwodi, in the past couple of weeks, has been on tour of study centres across the country to inspect and assess ICT installations.
Although the ICT guru has not been vocal on the purpose of his tour and inspection of ICT facilities at the study centres, his assignment might not be unconnected with managements desire to up its game in overhauling ICT equipment and to mobilise internet connectivity at all study centres across the country.
