In its effort towards increasing enrollment at the centre, the advocacy team of the Surulere Study centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), has recently visited the Aguda Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Lagos.

The team's visit was a follow up to an earlier visit, carried out with the aim to sensitise some senior officers of the police.

Centre Director, Prof. Yemisi Ogunlela, while speaking about the operations of NOUN as an Open and Distance Learning mode of instructional delivery, added that the university is a foremost university that provides quality and highly accessible university education.

The director added that there are benefits in studying in NOUN as it offers flexibility, affordability and cost- effectiveness in learning.

She stated that NOUN students have the satisfaction and leverage of learning at any place with no age barrier, gender or distance.

Ogunlela, therefore, urged the officers to choose from programmes as the semester is on ongoing .

Other staff of the centre took turns explaining the functions of their units and the processes of admission, registration, among others .

Prior to the advocacy talks, the Divisional Police Officer, CPS Justin Uro, had earlier addressed the officers on the importance of education, advising them to grab the opportunity that has been brought to them by the university.
