The newly-appointed Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Cross River State, Dr. Helen Isamoh Egodo, on Thursday, June 20, 2024 commended the uniqueness of instructional delivery system at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
Egodo acknowledged the potency of the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode of education as promoted by NOUN in creating access and bringing flexibility in learning for Nigerians desiring tertiary education much more than the conventional system does.
The Honourable Commissioner made the assertion when a team of NOUN staff paid her a congratulatory visit on her appointment.
Egodo, who was beaming with delight by the presentation of NOUN delegation, commended the uniqueness of the institution's instructional delivery mode and promised to visit the study centre in her earliest opportunity.
The NOUN team led by the Senior Assistant Registrar (SAR) of Calabar Centre, Mr. Emeka Madu, who represented the Centre Director, Prof. Onyeka Iwuchukwu, literally turned the visit to an advocacy campaign as they took advantage of the Honourable Commissioner's request for explanation on how NOUN works to sensitise their hosts on the operations of NOUN.
Madu called on the staff of the ministry to take advantage of NOUN's affordability, flexibility and accessibility to enrol at the West Africa's premier ODL university to boost their career pursuits.
