The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Lagos Zonal Office has witnessed a change of leadership following the formal handover of the Director’s position from Professor F. Fatimayin to Dr. Nimisore M. Akano.
The transition followed recent staff postings by the university and marked the end of Prof. Fatimayin’s two-year tenure as Director of the Lagos Zonal Office.
At the handover ceremony, the outgoing Director formally introduced the heads of the various units to her successor and expressed appreciation to members of staff for their support and cooperation throughout her tenure.
In her farewell remarks, Prof. Fatimayin commended the staff for the collaboration and goodwill she enjoyed during her time in office.
“I would like to take this occasion to express my gratitude to everyone for your cooperation, assistance, care and affection during the two years I have spent here. I arrived in good health, and I depart in good health as well,” she said.
She urged members of staff to extend the same level of support and cooperation to the new Director, stressing the importance of collective effort in advancing the activities and achievements of the Lagos Zonal Office.
In her inaugural remarks, Dr. Akano commended Prof. Fatimayin for her dedication and contributions to the development of the Zonal Office during her tenure.
She called on members of staff to maintain a strong spirit of teamwork and collaboration, urging them to work together towards achieving greater progress and improved service delivery.
