The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Azare Community Study Centre, Bauchi State, has stepped up efforts to promote open and distance learning (ODL) through an advocacy visit to Falcon FM 100.3 in Azare.
The delegation, led by the Centre Director, Dr. Hosea Gobak Kama, visited the radio station to strengthen media relations and raise public awareness of the university’s academic programmes and educational opportunities in Azare and neighbouring communities.
During the visit, Kama featured on a live radio programme, where he highlighted NOUN’s range of academic programmes, flexible learning opportunities and contributions to educational development in Bauchi State.
He also urged members of the public to take advantage of the university’s open and distance learning system to pursue their academic aspirations, noting that the flexible mode of study provides opportunities for individuals to acquire education while managing other personal and professional commitments.
The management of Falcon FM welcomed the delegation and commended the initiative, emphasising the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and media organisations in promoting education and raising public awareness.
The visit forms part of the centre’s ongoing efforts to strengthen community engagement, expand its outreach and increase awareness of NOUN’s educational opportunities across Azare and surrounding communities.
