The Vice-Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Uduma Oji Uduma, has sparked widespread jubilation at the Umuahia Study Centre, Abia State, as the centre conducts e-examinations at its own facility for the first time in its 24-year history.
Describing the development as a testament to the Vice-Chancellor’s commitment to fulfilling his promises, the Centre Director, Prof. Nnadi Chris, noted that during his recent visit to the centre, Prof. Uduma had assured staff and students that the facility would host the 2026_1 e-examinations.
Speaking in an interview, Chris said the centre has witnessed remarkable transformation following the installation of 150 computer systems and 150 iron tables in preparation for the e-examinations.
He stated that students are taking the 2026_1 e-examinations in an atmosphere of excitement, joy, and gratitude.
While commending the Vice-Chancellor and the university management for the gesture, Chris added that community leaders, stakeholders, staff, and friends of the centre have continued to shower encomiums on the Vice-Chancellor for making the long-awaited development a reality.
According to him, the milestone marks the end of years of relocating to rented centres to conduct e-examinations, thereby providing greater convenience for students and staff alike.
