NOUNAA, Enugu Chapter, Pledges Support for Study Centre’s Growth

The Enugu State Chapter of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Alumni Association has pledged its commitment to supporting the growth and development of the university’s Enugu Study Centre.


The alumni made the pledge when it paid a courtesy visit to the centre on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.


Speaking on the purpose of the visit, the Chairman of the delegation, Mr Chibuike Osondu, said the team was at the centre to congratulate the Director, Prof. Loveth Ekwueme, on her appointment and to strengthen the relationship between the alumni association and the study centre.


Describing the visit as a partnership in progress, Osondu pledged the alumni’s loyalty, commitment and support towards advancing the centre and helping it achieve greater heights.


Responding, Prof. Ekwueme warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for the visit.


She commended the University Management for creating an enabling environment for the association to thrive, noting that the initiative reflected the university’s confidence in the contributions its graduates could make to national development.


The Centre Director urged members of the association to abide by the rules and regulations guiding its establishment and operations, while ensuring that they continued to project the image of the university positively.


Prof. Ekwueme stressed that the growth and development of the centre was a collective responsibility, urging the alumni to enhance its visibility through advocacy, community development and other initiatives that would positively impact society.


Other members of the delegation were the Secretary, Amb. Florence Ozioma Obi; Treasurer, Mr Collins Nzubechukwu Eze; Public Relations Officer, Mr Mba-Nwrite Franklin; and Provost, Barrister I. G. Okeme.
