The Students of Kaduna Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), have commissioned two projects under DES 303 2026_1.

The students, grouped into seven: A-G, were expected to come out with a project that will have effects on the lives of any chosen community of their choice.

Each group is tasked with the responsibility of identifying a community based on certain issues so as to provide support services as part of their community development services.

Two groups (A and B) commissioned their projects: Group A constructed and commissioned Gazebo Tent at Kaduna Study Centre, while Group B carried out their project at Al'Ihsan Basuma Charity and Orphanage Home, Nasarawa Kaduna.

The Director, Kaduna Study Centre, Dr. Babangida Iro, applauded the students for identifying one of the needs of the centre and delivered on it.

He urged the students not to consider the community service project DES 303 as solely for academic purpose but to be carried it over after graduation, since service to humanity is the main goal of establishing the course.

Iro said the university will forever be remembering the group for making the project possible at the centre which will further benefit the staff and students of the NOUN.

On his part, the Desk Officer of the centre, Mal. Nura Marafa, urged the students to sustain the tempo by establishing a similar group to carry out similar projects in their various societies and communities.
