ACETEL Completes Seamless Virtual Examinations for AI, Cybersecurity, MIS Postgraduate Students

The Africa Centre of Excellence on Technology Enhanced Learning (ACETEL), National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), has successfully concluded its 2025/2026 First Semester virtual proctored examinations for postgraduate students.

The students comprised of those who enrolled in its Master of Science (MSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cyber Security, and Management Information Systems (MIS).

Conducted through a secure virtual proctoring platform, the examinations brought together students from across Nigeria and other African countries, reinforcing ACETEL's position as a leader in technology-enhanced learning and digital assessment.

The two-week examination exercise commenced on Monday, June 22, 2026, and concluded on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

Examinations were held in two daily sessions—9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. (WAT)—to ensure a smooth, efficient, and well-coordinated assessment process.

Students were assessed in a wide range of advanced courses across the centre's flagship postgraduate programmes. 

Candidates in the Artificial Intelligence programme sat for courses including Principles and Techniques of Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Programming for AI, Programming for Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and Introduction to Algorithms.

The successful conduct of the examinations highlights ACETEL's sustained commitment to leveraging innovative digital technologies to deliver quality postgraduate education without geographical barriers.

The virtual proctoring system safeguarded the integrity, transparency, and credibility of the examination process while providing students with a seamless assessment experience.
