The orientation exercise, which commenced at 9am, hours before the general matriculation ceremony of the university held April 12, 2022 was organised by the study centre director, Dr. Ayodeyi Badmus and staff members.

Badmus addressed the freshers on the importance of the orientation, stating that it was to familiarise the students with the mode of Open and Distance Education, the flexibility of studying in NOUN, the cost-effectiveness, online learning and other advantages of the institution.

The director also highlighted the mode of examination, explaining that there are two types: e-examination and the Pen-on-Paper as well as how to access study materials both in hard and soft copies.

At the end of his address, he notified the new students of the rules and regulations that guide examinations and urged them to refrain from any form of malpractice and misconduct.

The Deputy Bursar of the study centre, Mr. Samuel Adeyeni, also present at the event, explained the process of payment into the portal.

He talked about course registration, exam registration and other payments, and advised the students against cash payments while encouraging them to always make enquiries before any payment is made.

Other staff also took turns to introduce their units, functions and activities in the centre.

The exercise also had in attendance the Head of the Isua-Akoko Community Education Committee, Eng. B.J. Oguntuase who shared a goodwill message on behalf of the community.

Oguntuase welcomed the new students that are non-residents of the community, advising them to often reach out to the community and promised that they are ready to assist with challenges they might face during their academic journey at the study centre.

The students, on their part, asked different questions and all were answered satisfactorily.
