NOUN to matriculate 17, 804 freshmen for the 2020/2021 Academic Session.


About 17, 804 fresh students are set to matriculate at the 20th Ceremony of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) slated to hold on Saturday, 15th May, 2021.

The Matriculation Ceremony will be holding simultaneously at the 103 study centres of the university across the federation virtually.

Visitation Panel reunites incumbent with former VCs


Two former Vice-Chancellors of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Vincent Ado Tenebe and Prof. Abdalla Uba Adamu have on Tuesday appeared before the Presidential Visitation panel for presentation and assessment of their various roles while steering the university’s leadership in the past.

This is in line with the 7-man panel’s terms of reference that include examining the quality of the leadership of the university in terms of the roles of the Governing Board, the Vice-Chancellor and other Principle Officers, among others.

VC to accreditation teams: we respect your objectivity


The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, has assured the National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation teams that NOUN will make amends, improve on its services and implement their observations in line with global academic standard.

This was sequel to the various teams’ preliminary reports tendered to the university at the end of their assignments.

What we intend to scrutinise in NOUN – Panel


Chairman of the Presidential Visitation Panel to the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Alhaji Isa Bello Sali, has said that part of his committee's assignment was to inquire into the level of implementation of the White Paper on the last visitation report as well as examine the quality of the leadership in the university.

Sali, a former Head of Civil Service of the Federation, stated this during the panel’s first interactive meeting with stakeholders of the university, held at the headquarters of the university on Tuesday in Abuja.

NOUN VC elected first ACDE vice president


The Vice-Chancellor, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Olufemi Peters has has been elected as the first vice president of the African Council for Distance Education (ACDE).

ACDE, a continental educational organisation, has its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.

A former ACDE executive secretary and now the NOUN centre director, McCarthy Study Centre, Lagos, Prof. Rotimi Ogidan, stated in a post that the NOUN VC was unanimously elected into the position.
