Fugar centre holds exams briefing for students


Fugar Community Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Fugar, Etsako Central Local Government Area, Edo State, has organised an orientation exercise/exams briefing for its students.

The event, which was chaired by the centre director, Prof. Jonathan Aliede, was meant to familiarise fresh students with the workings of Open and Distance Learning (ODL), NOUN's flagship mode of instructional delivery. 

VC to staff: Acquaint yourself with the requisite knowledge


The Vice-Chancellor, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof Olufemi Peters has called on staff to have adequate mastery of their trade so as to excel in Open and Distance Learning institution.

Prof. Peters stated this during the virtual workshop organized for Academic staff and Centre Directors of the University by the Regional Training & Research Institute for Distance and Open Learning (RETRIDOL).

Mushin centre prepares students for upcoming examination


The Mushin Study Center of the National Open University of Nigeria on Wednesday held a briefing for students towards the forthcoming examinations.

The study center director, Oluyemisi Ogunlela led other officers in laying bare the dos and don’ts of the NOUN examination, with the Deputy Assistant Registrar, Mrs. Kate Anuobi in attendance.

NOUN out to deliver best, quality education, director emphasised


The director, Kaduna Study Centre, Dr. Aminu Umar, has described the National Open University of Nigeria as a great university that positions itself to deliver the best and give quality education to the students.

He said this in a speech at a seminar organised by the centre for level 400 B.Sc Nursing and level 300 and 500 students of Public Health Science departments.

NOUN condoles with Akpor Kingdom over king’s death


A delegation of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has paid a condolence visit to the burial of His Royal Highness, Eze (Amb) A. A. Orlu Oriebe (JP), Nyenwe-Ali Akpor of Akpor Kingdom, the late king of Akpor Kingdom in Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, who passed on recently.

It will be recalled that Akpor Kingdom is the direct host community of Port Harcourt Study Centre of NOUN in Ozuoba Town.

Kaduna centre holds orientation for new students


The Kaduna Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria has held its orientation programme for the newly matriculated students of the centre.

It could be recalled that the university had last weekend matriculated 17, 804 fresh students, with 11,962 as the undergraduate students while 5,821 for the postgraduate’s studies. 

FCT Minister tasks NOUN on improved publicity


The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammed Musa Bello, has called on the management of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) to give more publicity to the activities of the institution.

The minister stated this when he received NOUN’s presidential visitation panel, led by its chairman, Alhaji Isa Bello Sali in Abuja.

Port Harcourt Study Centre hosts students to SIWES orientation


The management of Port Harcourt Study Centre, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, led by the centre director, Prof. Eserinune McCarty Mojaye, on Thursday, hosted students of the centre to Students' Industrial Work Experience (SIWES) orientation exercise.

Mojaye, who received the SIWES officials accorded them a warm welcome and encouraged students to take the scheme seriously as SIWES has become part and parcel of the Nigerian higher education curriculum.
