Ensure due-diligence in handling students’ projects, facilitators told


The Director, Gulak Community Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Mrs. Margaret Yamtu, has appealed to facilitators at the centre to ensure due-diligence and professionalism in handling the projects of students.

Yamtu made the appeal during a meeting held with facilitators in Mubi, Adamawa State.

The director emphasised on the zero tolerance to extortion of students by any facilitator, which has been the known stand of NOUN.

NOUN in the face of Media Campaign


The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) is like a city on the mountain that cannot be hidden. As a single -mode Open and Distance Learning (ODL) institution, NOUN's activities must be publicised using all available means. To ensure this is done, NOUN's management, in its wisdom, created the Directorate of Media and Publicity (DMP) in  the university with  clear mandates.

NOUN conducts 2021 promotion exam for non-teaching staff


The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has on Thursday, 28 October 2021, conducted the promotion examination for the senior non-teaching staff of the university.

The exercise, which was held at the six geo-political regions of the country, was for the 2021 set and was administered on the Pen-on-Paper basis.

At the Abuja Model Study Centre, which was the venue for the North-central region, the exercise was conducted under the watchful eyes of the Registrar, Mr. Felix I. Edoka.

ACETEL setting the pace in capacity building of faculty - NOUN VC


The Vice-Chancellor, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Prof. Olufemi Peters, has said that the Africa Centre of Excellence on Technology Enhanced Learning (ACETEL) is establishing a standard in building the capacity of faculty not only in Nigeria but across Africa.

The VC stated this during the opening ceremony of a 3-day virtual workshop on Online and Blended Learning organised by ACETEL in partnership with the Digital Science and Technology Network (DSTN), held 26th-28th October 2021.

VC eulogises Ajayi as directorate holds send-off


The Vice-Chancellor, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Olufemi Peters, has congratulated the immediate-past director of the Internal Audit, Dr. Lydia Ajayi, who retired from service having reached the age 65 years.

Peters stated this during a send-off and retirement party organised by the directorate to bid her farewell, which took place recently at the university headquarters, Jabi, Abuja.

SERVICOM National Coordinator visits NOUN for advocacy


The National Coordinator of SERVICOM, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli has visited the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) for an advocacy as well as to build a relationship with the Management of the University.

Akajemeli, who led a team for the October 26, 2021 visit to the University Headquarters in Abuja, also hoped that the visit would afford her the idea on how the SERVICOM Unit in the university operates.
