The Director of African Centre of Excellence on Technology Enhanced Learning (ACETEL), Prof. Grace Jokthan, has called on students of the Centre to initiate ideas in cyber security to solve real life problems.
Prof. Jokthan made this call at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) while playing host to a two-man delegation, representing the entire students studying Cyber Security at the centre.
Determined to enhance the visibility of National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), the former Head of Department, Mass Communication, Dr. Chidinma Henrietta Onwubere, has taken personal advocacy campaign on the institution to a church in Abuja.
Onwubere, who called on other staff of the University to replicate such move, said advocacy visit to churches and mosques would go a long way to attracting more Nigerians to NOUN.

The director, Military Hospital, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Col. A. A. Aloku, has described the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) as a credible alternative to the conventional university system in Nigeria.

The outgoing director, Centre for Excellence in Migration and Global Studies (CEMGS), National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Hakeem Ibikunle Tijani has formally handed over the affairs of the Directorate to Dr.Gloria Anetor as he proceeds on leave of absence.
While handing over CEMGS to his successor in his office at the University headquarters, Jabi, Abuja, Prof. Tijani said he will continue to work together with the staff of the Directorate while on leave of absence.

The Director of Abakaliki Study Centre, Dr Udu Ama Aka and his staff have taken an advocacy campaign to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ebonyi State Command, Abakaliki.
While the massive advocacy was a conscious and decisive efforts to attract more students to the centre, the director, who represented by the deputy director counselling, Mr Althansius Onyeokoro, used the opportunity to sensitize the officers and men of NDLEA about the operation of NOUN as an Open and Distance Learning (ODL) institution.
