NOUN, ACE, others harp on Digital Education


The National Open University of Nigeria, African Centre of Excellence on Technology Enhanced Learning (NOUN’s-ACETEL), National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Association of African Universities (AAU) in collaboration with the West African Digital Education Network (ADEN), EPFL Switzerland have stressed the need to explore digital learning in tertiary education.

This is the thrust of its 4th training workshop of experts in digital education, hosted by NOUN-ACETEL at the headquarters of the university in Jabi-Abuja.

AAU scribe lauds NOUN on improved mode of delivery


The Secretary-General of the Association of African Universities (AAU), Prof. Olusola B. Oyewole, has commended the management of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) for several milestones achieved since inception.

Prof. Oyewole stated this during a courtesy visit with his team to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters in his office at the university headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.

Today marks the birthday of the NOUN Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olufemi Peters. The VC marked the onerous day quietly, modestly, without any fanfare, with the cutting of his cake and a photo session  in his office.

CHRD trains NOUN Staff School teachers on innovative teaching, ethical conduct


In a bid to enhance creativity and ethical conduct in its mode of operation, The National Open University of Nigeria's Centre for Human Resource Development, Kaduna (NOUN-CHRD) has organised a 2-day training workshop for the teachers of NOUN Staff School to boost its standard of operation and mode of delivery.

Calabar centre visits host monarch


The management of Calabar Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Calabar, Cross River State, on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, paid a courtesy visit to the newly installed Ndidem of Ikot Ansa, HRH Nte Paul Assema Ita, in furtherance of the centre's advocacy campaign.

The visit, led by the director of the centre, Prof. Onyeka Iwuchukwu, afforded an opportunity for the centre to pay homage to the royal father, especially as Ikot Ansa, the domain of the new king, is the immediate host community of Calabar Study Centre.

E-ticketing: NOUN trains managers, desk officers for quality service delivery


As part of its efforts in providing seamless service delivery, resolving challenges bedevilling students, the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has trained about 25 staff selected as e-ticketing desk officers and managers to handle students' various complaints within 24hours.

The 2-day training workshop held between 5th - 6th May, 2022, at the university headquarters in Abuja, was organised by the office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Technology, Innovation and Research (DVC-TIR), Prof.Monioluwa Olaniyi.

Gombe Study Centre hosts staff to Iftar dinner


The second edition of this year's 'Iftar Night Out' at the Gombe Study Centre has turned out to be a huge success in the sense that it was a reflection of the unity and harmony that exists among staff at the centre.

The Iftar dinner held on the 27th day of the Ramadan fast was coordinated by Dr. Adamu Bappah, Director, Gombe Study Centre.

In an opening address, the Centre Director welcomed all Staff to the interfaith iftar night and stated that Ramadan is one of the most important months of the Islamic Calendar.
