Cholera outbreak: NOUN department, FCTA set to sensitize Abuja community


The National Open University of Nigeria's (NOUN)  Department of Environmental Health Science, Faculty of Health Sciences, in collaboration with Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), have announced plan to commence sensitization campaign on cholera outbreak in the nation's capital territory.

The sensitization campaign is expected to berth at Gosa Kpanyi-Kpanyi village in the FCT.

Arewa Media Writers Visit Gombe Study Centre


Arewa Media Writers Association, on Friday 3rd September 2021, paid a courtesy visit on the management of National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Gombe Study Centre.

The aims of the visit, according to the National Chairman of the association, Comrade Abbas Sani Pantami, was to collaborate with the University to educate and enlighten Northerners on the operation of the institution.

The Director, Directorate of Physical Development Works and Services (DPDWS), National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Architect Abubakar Y. Alfa, has said that the relocation of the institution to Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja has helped in confronting some infrastructural challenges bedeviling the university.

MIS director: NOUN portal is dynamic, more changes introduced


The Director, Management Information System (MIS) of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Dr. Muhtari Alhassan, has disclosed that certain changes have been effected on the university’s portal to keep pace with the dynamism of the technology and improve efficiency.

In an interview with NOUN News, the director said the university management has approved new changes on the portal, which include the provision of course materials for download at student’s leisure.

The chairman of governing council of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Peter Okebukola, says the institution is committed to enhance welfare of staff and robust academic programmes' development.

The Vice-Chancellor, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof Olufemi Peters, has approved certain changes in the leadership of some directorates, as well as centres of the university.

The changes will see Prof. Olugbenga D. Ojo, the former director, Oshogbo Study Centre assuming office as the new director, Examination and Assessment (DEA).

Mande hands over Postgraduate School to Mafiana, commends staff


The outgoing Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS), National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Samaila Mande, has formally handed over the mantle of leadership of the School to his successor, Prof. Chiedu Mafiana.

The ceremony took place on Wednesday 1st September, 2021 at the dean's office, University's headquarters, Jabi, Abuja.
