NOUN to matriculate 19,766 freshmen at 22nd ceremony


About 19,766 fresh students are set to matriculate at the 22nd matriculation ceremony of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) slated to hold on Tuesday, 12th April, 2022.

This was contained in a memo dated April 4, 2022 and signed by the Deputy Registrar (DR), Academic Registry, Mr. Oladipo Ajayi on behalf of the Registrar, Mr. Felix Edoka.

College provost pledges partnership with Fugar Community Study Centre


The Provost, Federal College of Forest Resources Management (FCFRM), Fugar, Edo State, Dr. Benson Osikabor, has promised to partner with the management of Fugar Community Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Fugar, Edo State, to enhance the realisation of the mutual goals of the two federal institutions.

Osikabor expressed this commitment when the advocacy train of Fugar Community Study Centre paid him a visit at the college recently.

Don advocates gender orientation in organisations


Organisations across sectors have been enjoined to formulate gender orientation objectives and systems for the subsequent mainstreaming in the human capital development, a university don, Prof. Ganiyat Adejoke Adesina-Uthman has said.

Adesina-Uthman, a professor of economics, said a recent study has indicated a male-centred framework with a significant gender difference in human capital development, which by inference are socially built on negative attitudes towards female professionals.

NOUN loses a gem


This is to inform the general public and the NOUN community that Professor Onyemaechi Joseph Onwe has passed on.

He died on Monday, March 28, 2022 in his home.

Prior to his demise, Professor Onyemaechi Joseph Onwe, was a  Professor in the Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, NOUN.

Born on the 22nd of August, 1956, Professor Onyemaechi Joseph Onwe was survived by children and relations.
