Kaduna Study Centre, KSMC move to partner on public enlightenment


The Managing Director, Kaduna State Media Cooperation (KSMC), Mr. Ibrahim Samaila Ahmad, has agreed to partner with the National Open University of Nigeria's Kaduna Study Centre to enlighten the public on the need to pursue their educational career at the institution.

He made this known when he hosted a high-powered delegation of NOUN, Kaduna Study Centre advocacy campaign team led by its centre director, Dr. Aminu Umar , on a courtesy call on the management of the media corporation office  in Kaduna.

Mass Comm dep’t holds first PhD seminar presentation


The maiden PhD seminar presentation of the Department of Mass Communication, Faculty of Social Sciences, has taken place at the Board Room of the department, where eight candidates faced the panel of professors to defend their proposals.

The 4-day event, which started on 25th – 28th August, 2021, formally signaled the commencement of the PhD degree in the department, which already offers MSc in Mass Communication, PGD as well as undergraduate degree programmes.

Pension firm engages NOUN staff, dispels 2% withdrawal rumour


A representative of the First Guarantee Pension Limited (FGPL), Mr. Onoja Precious, has dispelled information going round about the eligibility of contributors to withdraw two percent of their money before retirement.

Precious said this during an interactive session held on 25th of August, 2021 at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) headquarters to inform, educate and answer pressing questions on pension-related issues.

Bangladesh High Commission poised to collaborate with NOUN on ODL, others


The High Commissioner of the People's Republic of Bangladesh to Nigeria, His Excellency Mr. Masudur Rahman, has said his country is desirous to go into collaboration with the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) in the areas of Open and Distance Learning (ODL), research, linkages, amongst others.

Rahman, accompanied by the Consular, Political Affairs of the High Commission, was speaking during a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, at the university headquarters in Abuja.

South-east Incubation Centre: Outgoing coordinator hands over to Ekwueme


Outgoing coordinator of the Incubation Centre, South-east Zone, Dr. Nkata U. Kalu has handed over affairs of the centre to the incoming coordinator, Dr. Loveth Ekwueme, who was a fortnight ago appointed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, to oversee activities of the centre.
