The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Isaac Butswat, has been bestowed with a meritorious award for service to God and the Body of Christ.
He was awarded by the Chapel of Victory, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, (ATBU), Bauchi.
The award was conferred on him during the end of year thanksgiving of the Chapel of Victory, ATBU, Bauchi on Sunday, December 1, 2024.
The recognition was conveyed in a letter dated November 29, 2024, titled: ‘’An Award in Recognition of your Meritorious Service to the Lord in Chapel of Victory."
The letter, signed by the council chairman, Deacon Prof. John E. Ochi and Pastor Dr. Joseph Kalu Ufere, General Secretary, said ‘’The Chapel of Victory recognises with joy and deep sense of appreciation your labour and sacrifice of love on which the Chapel basic tenets have been built.
"Leveraging on these tenets, the current and future generations of labourers in this vineyard will continue to thank God for your visionary and exemplary leadership as Chapel Council Chairman."
It then stated that "On behalf of the Council, we have the singular honour and privilege to congratulate you for receiving this award, which serves not only to eulogise your commitment but also as a symbol of the greater eternal reward which the owner of the vineyard Himself shall give you at the expiration of time (Rev: 22: 12). Congratulations Sir!"
In his response, the recipient, Prof. Butswat, in a note of appreciation dated November 22, 2024 titled: ‘’A Note of Appreciation," expressed appreciation for the thoughtfulness of presenting such an award to him and his colleagues.
The message in part stated thus: “This gesture both motivates and inspires us to continue our work and service in the Lord’s vineyard, the significance lies not in the size or quality of the gift award, but in the spirit, recognition and necessary Godly wisdom."
It would be recalled that Butswat was the Chairman, Chapel Council from 2004 - 2006.
