
Contrary to the recently fabricated news making the rounds about the nature of Dr. Shehu Usman Adamu’s disengagement with the Kaduna State Executive Council in 2017, a document signed by the then Secretary of the State Government, Balarabe Abbas Lawal, has revealed the exact and true nature of Adamu’s exit.
In a letter dated February 24, 2017 and signed by the then Secretary to the Kaduna State Government, Balarabe Abbas Lawal, with reference number: Ref No: SSG/KDS/267/VOL.XVI/313, it said Dr. Adamu was disengaged following his earlier request and desire to return to the Academia.
The letter, addressed to Dr. Shehu Usman Adamu, the then Commissioner of Commerce, Industry
and Tourism, acknowledged Dr. Adamu’s desire to return to the university and thanked him for his “examplary deidcation to duty and contribution to the development of the state in the Ministries of Education, Science & Technology and Commerce, Industry and Tourism, where you served at various times as Commissioner.”
The letter said: “Following the re-shufflement of the Kaduna State Executive Council by the Governor of Kaduna State, Mal. Nasir Ahmad El-Rufa’I OFR, and your desire to return to academia, the Governor has acceded to relive you of your appointment as Commissioner to allow you pursue your aspiration in the university.
“Consequently, I am pleased to convey the appreciation of the Government and people of Kaduna State for your exemplary dedication to duty and contribution to the development of the state in the Ministries of Education, Science & Technology and Commerce, Industry and Tourism, where you served at various times as Commissioner.
“While wishing you the best of luck in your future endeavour, accept the assurance of our regards at all times.”
The former Kaduna State Commissioner, who is presently the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), had since been confirmed as a professor.
