Kaduna centre delivers advocacy lecture at Cooperative College

The advocacy campaign team of the NOUN Kaduna Study Centre has visited the Federal Cooperative College, Kaduna, where the director, Mr. Abdullahi Yufus, delivered advocacy preachings

Upon arrival at the college, the team was warmly received by the provost, Hajiya Aisha Ismail Ishaq, who was represented by her deputy, Mr. Sadiq Idi Alhaji. 

Speaking to the congregation of lecturers and students of the college, the director thanked the provost for the opportunity given to them to interact and discuss with both the staff and students of the college. 

Talking about the National Open University of Nigeria, the director discussed that the institution is at par with any other university in the country and beyond. 

He added that like any other university, NOUN is regulated by the National Universities Commission and all its available courses and programmes are duly accredited. 

Yusuf added that despite being regulated by the NUC, NOUN is further being a critical stakeholder in the international bodies like the African Centre for Distance Education (ACDE) and Commonwealth of Learning with its headquarters at Vancouver, Canada. 

The university is technologically driven which provides education in modern way through the use of information and communication technology system, said Yusuf

He said NOUN is a 21st Century university due to it information and communication technology inclination

On the acceptability of its certificate, he explained that certificate is acceptable anywhere in world and maintains similar status with that of Oxford University. 

Therefore he urged the students and the lecturers to enroll so as to upgrade their certificate and upgrade their education background. 

He once again thanked the Management of Federal Cooperative College for the for ample time provided to engage them. 

In her remarks, the provost thanked the Management of the NOUN for choosing the college to showcase its activities

There is no any doubt that the National Open University of Nigeria has provided an easier medium than expected in providing education to the people, said Ishaq. 

She promised to encourage both the staff and students to enroll in the university. 

At the end of the event, the Kaduna Study Centre director handed over NOUN souvenirs to the management of the college.
