NOUN centre trains NTA staff on CBE

In line with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Gombe Study Centre, has partnered with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Gombe, to conduct a comprehensive training on Computer-Based Examination (CBE).

The Director of NOUN Gombe Study Centre, Dr. Adamu Bappah, said the training empowered NTA staff with essential skills in digital examination formats, computer system usage, and test-taking strategies. 

Bappah highlighted the importance of digital literacy in modern assessments, emphasising its alignment with global best practices.

Some of the tpoics the training focused on were the Exam Interface Navigation, Time Management, Digital Answering of Multiple-choice and Essay-based Questions, among others.

Practical sessions simulated real exam conditions, providing NTA staff with hands-on experience and a newfound confidence in the computer-based examination system.

At the end of the training, the NTA staff praised the initiative, expressing gratitude for the training's timeliness and benefits.

 "This training has boosted our confidence and eliminated the fear of using computers for exams. We appreciate Dr. Bappah and NOUN for their support," said an NTA staff member.

The training is part of ongoing efforts to enhance NTA Gombe personnel’s capacity, ensuring that they meet career progression requirements while embracing modern technological advancements in education and assessment.
