A delegation of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Director, Sokoto Study Centre, Mal Usman Aba Shehu.
Late Shehu died on Friday, April 10, 2026 at the Usmanu Danfodio Teaching Hospital, Sokoto after a brief illness.
NOUN Registrar, Mr. Oladipo Ajayi, represented by the Directors of Kaduna Study Centre as well as the Centre for Human Resource Development, Dr. Babangida Iro and Prof. Aminu Umar, sympathised with the deceased family at his residence in Kaduna.
The Registrar stated that the university was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Mr. Usman Abba Shehu, saying that they share in the grief with the his family and the loved ones during this difficult time.
He added that Shehu's dedication to the National Open University of Nigeria and his commitment to excellence will be remembered.
"He will be deeply missed by all who knew him" said the Registrar in the condolence message delivered on his behalf.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant him paradise and comfort his family and friends and his legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched.
Deputy Registrars, Hajiya Fatima Yakubu of Kaduna Study Centre and Maryam Kida of CHRD as well as other staff from the CHRD and the Kaduna Centre visited the late Shehu's family.
