Senator Karimi to build 1,000-seater hall in Isanlu Centre

The Senator representing Kogi-west Senatorial District, Sunday Steve Karimi, has facilitated for the construction of a 1,000-seater capacity lecture hall at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Isanlu Community Study Centre, Yagba-east Local Government Area, Kogi State.

The gesture was aimed at providing a conducive learning environment for students of the university at the centre.

NOUN Registrar, Mr. Oladipo A. Ajayi, disclosed this in a letter addressed to the Senator, appreciating his efforts in facilitating the project, through the Boarder Communities Development Agency, Abuja.

The letter also contained the University Management's sincere gratitude for his commitment to enhancing education facilities and creating opportunities for the citizens of Nigeria. 

Ajayi, in the letter, specifically noted that the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, has appreciated the senator’s willingness to undertake the building of a befitting hall for the centre. 

He further acknowledged his benevolence and dedication to improving the infrastructure of the centre, which, he said, aligns with the mission of the university to provide quality education and contribute positively to the community it serves.

Meanwhile, Alhaji Issa Ismaila, a member of the community, commended the Senator Karimi, who is also the chairman, committee on Senate Services,for his quality representation and pointed out that his 18- month tenure has showcased commitments and dedication to the prosperity of Kogi-west by delivering quality legislative representation and community development projects initiatives. 

He also noted that the senator has become an agent of change in championing progressive education, legislation, empowering youths through education initiative and community engagement and supporting local entrepreneurs since he came on board in 2023.
