BUK benefits from NOUN's training programme

A team from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) and Africa Centre of Excellence  on Technology Enhanced Learning  (ACETEL) has facilitated a comprehensive two-day virtual training for staff of the newly established Continuous Professional Development (CPD) unit of  Bayero University, Kano (BUK).

The training programme, which was carried out by a three-man team led by NOUN's Director, Staff Training and Development (ST&D), Mrs Eunice Riki, was in line with the establishment of the  CPD unit in pursuance of the institutional impact by the African Centre of Excellence on Dryland Agriculture.

The two-day  programme held Wednesday, 22nd and Thursday 23rd November, 2023,  equipped key staff on relevant topics and strategies for running effective CPD programmes.

The training covered crucial topics including but not limited to the following: Concept of Staff Training and Continuous Professional Development in Institutions of Higher Learning, Pre-Requisites for Training, Training Categorization, Conditions for Training, Continuous Professional Development and Sponsorships, Role of the Staff Training and Development Unit in Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) Sponsorships administration, among other topics.

Meanwhile, the virtual training was very interactive and highly successful based on feedback received through the Google form administered post training by the facilitating Centre, ACETEL.
